Six weeks
A rough sketch of the rhythm.
This isn't a schedule. It's an intended shape — provisional, and expected to drift once real people are in the house.
Most residents work remotely. Mornings are protected for that. The house is quiet before noon; there's no enforced communal breakfast, no icebreaker sessions, no designated "deep work hours". Adults with jobs know what they need.
Afternoons open up. The terrain is there, the light is long in early summer, and some of the best conversations happen walking uphill slowly with nowhere to be. Shared meals in the evenings — cooked in rotation, not catered. Some weeks will have a loosely organised exploration (a drive somewhere, a boat, an overnight); most won't.
- Mornings
- protected — work, writing, rest
- Midday
- loose — lunch is fend-for-yourself
- Afternoons
- open — terrain, walks, individual projects
- Evenings
- shared — dinner in rotation, conversation
- Weekends
- fully unstructured; collective plans emerge or don't
- Exploration
- possibly one or two collective trips per residence, never mandatory
The rhythm will adjust. The first group helps set it. That's part of why going first matters.
