Why 2027
Because rushed things feel rushed.
We could launch something this autumn. We're not going to.
Because we're taking over a building, not booking one. That means finding it. Walking through it. Checking what's wrong with it. Convincing a municipality that fifteen people living in an old school is a legitimate use of . Then fixing it. There's no version of this that happens before spring 2027.
Autumn is out. Six weeks of Norwegian darkness is a different thing for now. Spring is in. The light doesn't stop, and neither do you. Back it up from there and 2027 is just where the maths lands.
The building we want isn't for rent. It isn't for sale. 2026 is for finding it.
2027 is for being there.
The schedule
- Autumn 2026
- Find the place. Scout it. Inspect it in-person inspections. Measure rooms. Floor plans reward scepticism.
- Late 2026
- Applications open. The list goes first. The public follows, if there are places left.
- Early 2027
- Pick the 15. Everyone confirmed by February.
- Spring/Summer 2027
- Six weeks
For those in a hurry
A hundred retreats will take a deposit this weekend. Some of them will be perfectly pleasant. This is not one of them.
